Ring your local county court and ask for a divorce pack.
They send you a pack of forms, you pay a nominal fee for a solicitor to sign them, and send them back.

You really need to file for a divorce if she has incurred any debt since you have been married even while you were seperated the collectors will come after you to pay them.
Divorces only get costly when the people fight it out and the attorneys have to try to reach an agreement if you have already been seperated and if no have no kids (you didn't mention any) than it should be easily resolved and if neither dispute you should not even have to go to court.

whats the cheapest way to get divorced?
Be the woman! Sorry, it's harsh I know. But it is the plain cold fact. Our Judges come from a time when a woman would never wrong a man, therefore it is ALWAYS your fault. They ignore the facts and pity the "little lady".

You've been separated long enough for a quick divorce. If you can persuade her to file the papers, then you might get out without having to pay anything. That is, unless you have property or something that will be contested. If it is an uncontested divorce and she files the papers, all you have to do is sign. If you file, then you might have to pay a lawyer to do the papers.

The simply answer to this is for the two of you to agree terms outside of the court . Get a solictior simply for the things needed ONLY !!! and do it yourself . If however youre partner is planning on contensting anything about the divorce the only way to do it is to Pay through the nose .

QUESTION - are you UK or US.???
UK answer, log onto the courts website, you can down load all the forms you need. with instructions. and a step by step guide.
It should cost you less than £200 in total provide she agrees, and they are no finances or children involved. This price involves you filling the forms out, the price quoted above has gone up a lot in recent years.

An uncontested divorce. Draw up the papers yourself, can be done online. Sign it, mail it to her, she signs it, mails it back, file it with the court. Fee is different in every state.

there's really no cheap way out of it. especially if you're the husband and the breadwinner. just face it, if you want out you're gonna have to cut your losses and move on and hopefully you have something to still fall back on.

Just give her what she wants. Don't offer freely. She will only get it in the end, it just costs both of you lots.
