Paypal is an online service which allows members to exchange funds between each other. It is like Emailing money to someone.
You may link a checking and or credit card to your online account
If you wanted to buy something on EBay via paypal wherer the buyer and seller are both paypal members then you simply transfer money from your account to the sellers account.
Email confirmations are sent and viola` you have paid for your item.
Paypal works in both directions so if you sell something you can get paid by another member.
