Kudos to the people mentioning "Dick" and "Bush" (or "Gore" and "John" for that matter).
And he's not a left wing liberal Democrat. In fact, I'd put him pretty near Clinton (with a few more economic protectionist ideas and a greater concern for social justice, but with quite a bit of religious fervor in there, too.)
And as far as experience goes -- like Clinton had any experience doing anything but leading a second-to-last state for a bunch of years? That surely made him presidential. Or George W -- how long was he Gov. of Texas? A term and a half? Or Edwards? He hadn't even voted until something like 1996. What ever happened to fresh ideas?New faces? Brilliant minds? Just listen to the guy and you'll be hooked.

I don't think his name disqualifies him- but his lack of experience might. With only 7 years of Senate service behind him- I'd guess he's probably got another 10 years before he is widely accepted as a real candidate for the Presidency.

His middle name is Hussein. In America, people are not disqualified from a job because of their name.
Sincerely,

... and he's black...
Could he possibly have more going against him in this redneck lazybrained country?
I don't have anything against him, but I would still rather have Bill back in a 2 for 1 deal by voting for Hillery...
if we had a black man as VP...
it would still be amazing to actually get a woman and a minority in office... then this country would be less of an example in hypocracy, ya think?
Aside from all that...
Hitler was a white man of european descent...
but so were all our presidents, so what...
Personally, I think the GOP is trying to egg-on promoting Obamma just to weaken the strong Clinton ticket in '08... with the medias help.

No. Those just happen to be very common middle-eastern names. Having the same name as someone else doesn't make them necessarily the same as that person at all! Think of the difference between, say, Arnold Shwarzenegger vs. Tom Arnold. Both have Arnold in their names, but you certainly couldn't confuse them! :)

No. He claims to be a Christian. Radio talk shows are already making a big deal out of his middle name.
He is a left wing liberal Democrat, and for that reason I would not want him to represent me in any public office.

And George W's last name is 'Bush' and his VP's first name is 'Dick'.
Does that disqualify them from being taken seriously?
