I have a bad chesty cold and 2 children and a HUSBAND! he thinks when i am ill I should watch the kids, cook his meals maintain the house and do anything else required.
However in a couple of days when he has the same cold I will be expected to bring him fluids and pain relief with a cheerfull smile and still do the rest! Tell me I am not alone.
If i say I am ill I am a poor patient if i don't he forgot!

My hubby does not want any attention when he is feeling sick.He hardly ever gets sick but when he does i just leave him be. He asks for a cup of tea , he will sleep until he feels better, he does not like people faffing around him.

I on the other hand will groan and moan , ouccchhhh my head hurts or uuhhhhhh all the time until he asks what is wrong.
I enjoy the attention and will work it to the full. hehehe. He knows it too.

You are the most important person in the family nucleus, not the man. Given the choice of the mother or the father , I'd choose to keep the mother any day. Not only society but nature recognises this giving women greater immunity (All other things equal) to disease and greater physical endurance. Even with all the so-called labour saving devices, women still have to load up the dishwasher and arbitrate in siblings' disputes.

NO YOU ARE NOT ALONE
When my husband had MAN FLU (common cold to us girlies)
It would affect his whole body! He couldnt move off the settee! He,d make this pathetic sniffle sound every time i came into the room, and he,d talk in this weird BUNGED UP voice. He,d moan and groan about his illness like he was the only person in the world ever to be ill.
My kids dont make as much fuss as their dad.
Luckily for me i only had to put up with it for 16 years.
Our house is now...."15 stone male winging drama queen ..free!"

KEEP SMILING AND GOOD LUCK XXXX

******* tell me about it, a cold is flu and they get time off work, i also have two children and i haven't been allowed to be ill for 5 yrs. I simply can't do simpathy to men with the sniffles, i just avoid my husband when he's ill.

When I am sick ... I am SICK! I don't even care what is going on around me. When I am so sick, I don't even care if I eat, the kids eat or my man eats. I just lay in bed barely conscious...that's when the hubby realizes that he better help or I just might die and he'll have to take care of EVERYTHING!

It sounds typical behavior of a normal grown man to me. You need to put your foot down (when he expects you to do stuff when you are ill) and then your feet up (in bed) ! Be strong lady and make him know you're not his mother.

men try their hardest to be the most powerful of the human species but in fact when they have the sniffles they all show their true colours (great big winging wimps)

I would say to you to get over it. Nothing you say is going to make him a better "nurse" to you. I hate to say it, but thats just a guy thing.
