on some guys sometimes briefs are good specially if they have a nice butt, but on others boxers look really sexy on them
on girls, granny panties look sexy when you need to not show a panty line through your clothes and you don't want your triange thong panty line to show but on other clothes you can't see the thong triangle on the top so thongs for that! i use both, mostly thongs but sometimes granny panties are very comfortable

depends:
the guy can only wear briefs if he has a good tight butt. He can wear boxers too.
the girl can only wear thongs as long as she doesn't have a flabby butt. but personally i like wearing boyshorts
