Materials
jars with tight-fitting lids (Make sure the jars fit the figurines that have been selected.)
plastic or ceramic Christmas figurines (houses, animals, etc.) to fit in jars. (Stay away from paper or wood, and use plastic or other moisture-resistant material.)
oil-based enamel paint in holiday colors
paintbrushes
mineral oil or baby oil(to "thicken" the water and make the snow fall slower)
sandpaper
clear-drying, waterproof epoxy
distilled water
glycerin (available at drugstores or groceries)
white or silver glitter for "snow" (Crushed eggshells also work well in a jar with mineral oil.)
silicone sealant

Steps:

1. Paint jar lids in holiday colors, using oil-based enamel. Let dry well.

2. Sand inside of jar lids to roughen up the surface. Wipe clean with damp cloth.

3. Use clear epoxy to adhere holiday figurines to the inside of the jar lid to create a holiday scene. Let dry.

4. Fill jar nearly to the top with distilled water and mineral oil (1/2 water 1/2 oil), and add a few pinches of white glitter for snow.

5. Add a drop or two of glycerin to help snow swirl around and not fall too quickly. Be careful not to add too much glitter, or it will stick to the bottom of the jar when it is turned over.

6. Carefully screw the lid on the jar. Shake up and enjoy.

7. If you like the way it looks, take the lid back off and use silicone sealant on the lid before permanently reattaching it.

(I prefer canning jars because the lids seal very tight)
Hope this helps!
Happy Holidays.

You get a jar...with a lid and then you make a little house or whatever that fits on the lid, but still allows you to screw the lid shut. Glue the little house down with water proof glue. Then get your jar and fill it up with water. Get some white glitter and make sure it will sink in the water and then add a SMALL handful of the glitter into the water. Turn the lid upside down and place it on the jar FULL of water and then screw the lid on and maybe put some glue around the lid of the jar so water won't leak out or someone unscrews the jar. and then...you're done! Paint the jar lid white or something if you don't want it to LOOK like a jar lid.

Baby oil, clay a jar with a lid, tiny figurines and glitter.

You wash out the jar and put baby oil in it. Next you pour glitter in but no too much. You'd want a small jar like, a baby food jar, so the figurines won't move. Next, put one in it. Put the jar on and the clay is for the jar. You mold it on the lid so it looks festive lwt it dry and you have your snowglobe!
