My son is 14 months old and he's already on Training Cup. I began giving him water on the Training Cup when he was 6 months old . The sooner the better.

As soon as your baby is ready for juice, then you should start the cup. Remember this, put only formula in a bottle and only juice in a cup. When a child sucks on a bottle, they often keep the nipple in their mouth even when not drinking. This allows for the liquid to pool in the child's mouth. Sweet beverages like juice, soda, and kool-aid should never be put into a bottle. Keep from doing this and you will help to prevent tooth decay. Yes, even those tiny brand new teeth can rot. Also, when you begin to ween your child off of the bottle, it will be alot easier if the only thing that your child has ever drank out of a bottle has been formula. Put water in the bottle and continue to put juice in a cup and start to add milk(in a cup) into their diet. Eventually, the child will prefer to drink out of a cup and will forget about the bottle.

My son started with the cup around 9-10 months and lost interest in the bottle at one year. We started giving him sips from water bottles even earlier. Now he's two and has lost interest in the sippy.
However, all kids are different. Gerber makes a sippy with two hands that has a soft rubber spout (most have a hard plastic spout). Nothing wrong with offering it to her now. She'll either go for it or not, but it gets her used to the idea.

Give him a cup now. Let him drink from your cup. My son started at 6 months and had breast and cup only by 8 months.

My pediatrician mentioned we could start up giving my son water in a sippy cup at food while he became into six months previous. She mentioned to not assume lots, and lol, that is actual. maximum circumstances it finally ends up on the floor. whether i've got tried some distinctive cups and he's taking off to get the carry of it. that's an prolonged technique so i think of beginning at 6 months can not harm. because of the fact that is not surely like he's ingesting all that lots water, he's purely getting used to the belief.

Hello Meme 1824,
I work for a local WIC Program, WIC stands for Women, Infant and Children, we recommend that you start at 6 months introducing the baby to a training cup. Please contact a local WIC Office and ask to speak with a Nutritionist. Good Luck

the earlier the better. Give him/her the cup and see what happens... if it doesn't work now, wait a month and try again.
