I once yelled "Will you sexy b!tches pipe down over there!"
It gets the point across and pays a compliment all at the same time :-)

Well I don't. I mean, why use a term of endearment? It's kind of a way of expressing love for another person. I really don't understand why people do that sometimes. If you want to tell someone off, usually you are trying to project a feeling of hatred, not love. It just shows how twisted everything has gotten.

I notice I do it a lot, but I have a problem with being mean or hateful to someone even if I dont like them, so I simply and politely tell them to F*ck off, in my own little way. I guess the terms of endearment comes along with it....

Yes! A few times I've called a woman I'm arguing with "sweetheart". Of course I meant it sarcastically. It just came pouring out of my mouth without thinking. I've always wondered if any of those women thought I meant it endearingly. I hope not 'cause I didn't.

Yes it works for some people. My mother and step dad used to argue all the time and they always used there pet names for each other I never once saw them truly mad at each other they usually wound up laughing at some of the dumb things they did say. My step dad said he always got the last word in all of there arguments even if it was Yes Ma'am. Oh and she would even call him sweet names like a syrup sopping S.O.B. they loved each other unconditionally.

I did it once...I was going off on this chick and I called her "sweetheart" then I thought, "where the hell did that come from." I've never been one to do that...That was the only time I can remember doing that. It was weird for me, but it just came out and the funny thing was, I was extremely pissed off at the girl.

Yes, because I start out thinking I am going to be nice about it, but then as it is pouring out of my mouth it, I quit thinking about what I am saying and just want to let them know how I really feel.

If I'm close to the person and I'm only chastizing them gently, then yeah, I'll say something like, "Sweetie, stop that!" or "Hun, you really need to shut up!" but only if I know the person won't get offended or if they're younger than I am.
