I want to surprise my fiance with an iPod for Christmas. However, I'm on a budget. I'm looking for something with great quality, but at a reasonable price. Does anyone know how well the quality is for this particular iPod?

I don't really suggest the iPod Nano 1 GB because it only holds 250 songs. But if that's enough space to store your fiance's songs, go for it. It's just as good as any iPod Nano. It just won't hold any more than 250 songs. Other than the song capacity, it has all the same features as all the other iPod Nanos.
If that's not good enough, you can get the next highest model. The 2 GB iPod Nano. This one can hold up to 500 songs and it is $200 dollars. I hope this helped.

the new ipod shuffle is really nice its small so its easy to lose but u just hook it up to ur computer n transfer the songs using limewire or Ares (if u want free songs)
if the songs are high quality then ur songs on the ipod should be to. but im not sure of the price but for like 50 or 60 dollers more u can get a Nano o.0
