The previous answer answer about your uterus having a hole in it or you have HIV is WRONG, WRONG WRONG. The previous guy is jerking you around.
Technically the cervical opening is a "hole in your uterus". Vaginal bleeding does not mean HIV. You may have some fragile tissue on the outside of your cervix, an irritated vagina (from several causes) or possibly an infection. Keep your appointment.

If it is only when you have intercourse it is called break through bleeding....its different from spotting. If hormonal birth control is not strong enough the lining of the uterus is weak and this happens, it can lead to hemorrage so what they did with me was put me on the highest dose of BCPs to rebuild the lining....it worked great, had a full period every month...then after two years they were afraid I might go sterile, so they lowered the pill and I have a lovely daughter to show for it!

Yeah it's normal- its just from having sex. A little bleeding is okay, if there is a lot of blood then you should probably go to the doctor.

It happened to me once or twice before after I first started having sex.
The cause of my bleeding was a side effect of the Seasonale birth control pill.
Are you currently taking birth control?
Sometimes the pill causes "breakthrough bleeding."
It's completely normal but a doctors appointment can't hurt just to be sure it's nothing serious.

I don't think anyone can answer this question for you other than a qualified physician. I wouldn't even want anyone to try. Good luck though!
