Most likely it is the stress that is causing her to be late, which is extremely common. Stress and many other things like exercise or lack of proper diet can make someone late.

If your really worried about it, either go to the doc and get a blood test, or wait it out until she starts her period. If she still hasn't had her period by the time the next one is due, she should definitely see her doctor.

Usually, when pregnancy is questioned, I'll take a test every couple of weeks for about a month after my missed period. I am irregular however, so it gives me more chances to not be prego. But if she is on a normal schedule, something is not right if she is late.

Encourage her go to a Doc if she hasn't had it within another month.

Those tests are very, very accurate, well over 95% if all of the directions are followed correctly. Obviously, there is a chance that the test wasn't accurate, especially if she didn't follow the directions perfectly. I'd give it a few more days. If she's still late, go to a doctor for a professional test. That's the only way to be sure. Stress from a death in the family can also affect those sorts things.

Stress can definitely cause women to miss their periods. However, pregnancy tests are not always perfect... If they are wrong, they are more likely to give a FALSE NEGATIVE rather than a false positive. So she may want to take another test later today or tomorrow.

Hope this helps!

Yes, stress can affect even regular periods. If she hasnt started in another week its time to do another pregnancy test. Good Luck.

Yes stress is a very common reason for a late period. I wouldn't worry about it.

Did she say if any lines showed up, it the base line doesn't show up the results are invalid. If there was a death in the family it can disrup her cycle.
