I would say Phillip Rivers. Though it helps to have LT in the backfield and Antonio Gates to throw to, he has been consistant all year. From what I've read his teammates are very impressed by his leadership as well.

I would have to say Phillip Rivers because if I am not mistaken,he has played close to if not the entire season. And even though Romo is having a great year(until last night!!)he has not played the whole year. And lets not forget Vince Young(6-4 as a starter)He has the potential to be the best 2nd year quarterback next year.Jason Campbell is good but in my opinion last among this group.

I'm going to actually have to go with Romo on this, and here's why:
Unlike Rivers, he has stepped in only recently and his team has improved drastically with him at the helm...Rivers was going since day one and the Chargers were playing pretty well even prior to his taking the reigns.
Again, unlike Rivers, I don't think Romo has the superior supporting cast, either.
He strikes me as in the same groove Brady was in '92, or Big Ben was two years ago...though I suspect more the result of Big Ben as the Cowboys won't win this year.
As for Campbell, hard to say. I'd ask this question again in a year or two and then we'll see where these three are at.

Tony Romo and Phillip Rivers are products of the system. That is, their teams inflate their stats and images.
Vince Young has carried his team to victory after victory after taking over.
I pick Vince for winning three straight games over decent teams without much help.
I wasn't even a fan of Vince until recently, I was very skeptical after his wonderlic test. His 39-yard TD run up the middle in overtime dispelled my skepticism, along with all of his fourth quarter TD passes recently.

As of this year i'd say Vince Young he's really improving and he'll be something special next season. But the best first year QB ever to me Is Ben(steelers) he went to the AFC title game his first year in the league and his second.

For you people throwing out all-time best, the answer is Greg Cook, who as a rookie QB for the Bengals in 1969 had a pro-bowl caliber year. But he was injured, the injuries deteriorated, and he never really managed to play again after that.
He was the "Best Quarterback that Never Was".
