The American With Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law which prohibits discrimination of individuals with disabilities. The law is divided into four major sections: employment, public accommodation, public services and transportation and telecommunications. The determining factor of whether any particular condition is considered a disability is made on a case by case basis.

Here is a site with thousands of them! Title 2 Highlights from the US Department of Justice, Disability Rights Section. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The most important one that comes into my mind is the Federal Law that makes it illegal to make the sidewalks have less then a 36 inch clearence for the passage of a wheelchair. Shop owners with restaurants MUST provide tables that can easily accomodate people in wheelchairs.
