The numirator is the number on the top part of a fraction
The denominator is the number on the bottom part of a fraction
eg. 3/5
The numirator is 3
The denominator is 5

1) To mulitply fractions: add the numerators & add the denominators eg. (2/3)x(4/5)= 8/15

2) To add fractions: mulitply the denominators together to make the denominator of the answer. mulitply the numirator of each with the denominato of the other to make the numirator of the answer eg. (1/5)+(3/4)= (1x4)+(3x5)/ (5x4) =19/20

3) To divide fractions: flip one of te fractions upside down & then multiply them as in number 1). eg. (2/3)/(4/5)= (2/3)x(5/4)= 5/6

4) To subtract fractions: Use the same method as if you were adding fractions. Remember that the second numerator is negative.

Hope this clears things up!

in a fraction, the numerator is the value on the top of the line and the denominator is the number below the line.
eg- 3 / 4
(this is the only way i can write it on the computer, the whole fraction is more vertical in shape)
here, the 3 is the numerator and the 4 is the denominator
this also means that 3 is divided by 4 to give an answer in decimals
