I am a divorced mother of two also. I went back to school with the help of financial aid, you can do this through the school. Remember tuition is cheaper at a community college, get all the classes you can through a CC. Secondly, if you are determined to leave him, you will find a way, you must believe in yourself. I started a business for income while I was in school. No silver spoon in my mouth, just alot of determination. I had nobody to fall back on for financial help so I knew I had to make it work.

There are also government programs that can help you find housing for you and your children based on income. I managed to get enough financial aids through grants and loans, that it pays for tuition, gas, groceries, utilities, and it really helps with the financial burden. I hope this helps!

Been there. My ex was violent with me, and was starting to get violent with the kids. I had no job, no education to fall on, and not 2, but 4 kids, 2 of them twins under 1 year.

I just left. Literally left, and people willing to help me fell out of the woodwork. Friends and family helped, I was not to proud to go to the state for food stamps and medicaid for my kids, I found a good low cost legal service that helped me get child support, the local community college had lots of grants and loans I could apply for, and even a child care on the campus. It can be done, just look into the different options.

I wish you the very best of luck. I am now re-married, continuing my education, and off state help. Things are better.

You should have thought about this before you had kids...
