I'm always searching for girl names that are rarely used, but not way out there. So recently I came upon this one: Emmary said Em-muh-ree. What do you guys think?

Keep it simple for the child's sake. I find that some of the more rarely used names mirror the more modern names. This one sounds like a mis-pronounced Emily. It can make it hard on the child. Always, when naming a child, remember that it is for THEM, not YOU, and that when the novelty wears off, its just another name that people have a hard time pronouncing. In my Inlaw's side of the family, there is a Deleitha, Kyrie(female) and a Dathan, and Caden. They all sound cute, but noone ever quite knows what they are supposed to call them until they see it written down.

I LOVE IT! It was actually a possibility for my daughter. The spelling is perfect. I don't think that anyone will have a hard time pronouncing it either. And, I don't think anyone will make a mean nickname out of it. Kids can be mean, but I guarantee you that no 6-yr-olds will even think of Mammary or Emery board! Everyone gave me grief about the name I chose for my daughter because it was a little different, not far out there, just a little different. But, now I get compliments on it constantly. I also think that it has a slight similarity to your name which makes it special, but enough difference to make her feel unique. Don't go with the grain, go with your heart! Good Luck!

If you want to keep the muh in it I'd spell it Emmury because people will constantly be saying Em Mary and it will drive you and her nuts. Plus you have less chance of family members just trying to call her Mary...though she will probably be called Em by a few.

Commonly Emory. Not too common, but not too uncommon. Looks like a rip off of Emily and not nearly as cool as Mory.
