I have always been a huge sony fan - every electrical thing i have every owned was a sony. Laptop, computer, games console, camera....
You get the picture.
I was determind to get a PS3, the graphics, powers and overall look of it amazed me! But then it hit me.... £500!
I am currently at High school and I don't have much time for hardcore gaming so the Nintendo Wii hit the streets! £179!
Zelda, Mario and Pokemon! My childhood favourites!
But my dad loved my PS2 for the amazing graphics on racing games e.g. GT3 ( Soon to be GT HD on PS3)
Are there any games like this that can reasure me and make my future Birthday present definate =-)
Also, are there any update/extra coming out near March 2007?
(Plus a worry is the batteries in the Wiimote - is there a charger with it or anything else I should know?)
Thanks =-)

Whoa, now that is a tough decision. So I'll start with the easier questions. If you buy the component cables, the Wii will be able to display 480p. Not HD quality, but better than standard definition. As for batteries they last a good time, but like someone said, buy rechargeable. Now for the main question...I'd buy a Wii first. The Wii is a great party system for the whole family which also includes the hardcore greats like Zelda (honestly, where else will you see Zelda right now?).The PS3 has a a good future ahead of it, but nothing, minus Resistance: Fall of Man, is very appealing (at least that is how it looks). Another thing: do you remember the 8-bit era? On Wii you will be able to download old classics from NES, SNES, N64, Sega Genesis, and Turbografix-16. Online play will be coming soon, so if you want to crush people around the world with your Pokemon and rekindle your childhood favorites, well there you go. One last thing: do not be fooled into thinking the PS3 has the same type of control movements as the Wii: PS3's is very limited in that fashion. And on the topic of mess ups, a person earlier stated that the Wii remote has problems. Not true. The strap breaks off because people fling the control like maniacs, but Nintendo is still going ahead and strengthening the strap. PS3 still has some kinks, like the blue-ray drive and some being unable to play past PS games. Besides, Wii is cheaper, and I'm sure you and your Dad will enjoy it. (Hit me if I said too much...)

Well considering your dad was amazed by the ps2's graphics and that was the least powerfull system last generation I don't think he'll be upset by the way the wii games will look if they are used to the systems potential. Wii Sports is awesome its something you can sit down and play for a little. There are games for hardcore (Red Steel, Zelda) and a lot of games for people who just want to have a good time. The best racing game on the Wii is Excite Truck for the time being and yes there are component cables for the Wii although it can only do 480p.... As for the batteris if you're overly concerned just get some recharable batteries and you'll be all set.
The PS3 right now i can say the only game thats worth getting is Resistance: Fall of Man. And if you aren't into that kinda game then just wait till something of interest arrives.

100% PS3...the controller on the PS3 has almost the same thing as the Wii it reacts to how you hold it and how you move it...the price of the PS3 varies on how many GB you want (It comes in 20 or 30) PS3 is also ahead of the game with the Blu Ray tech (which is smaller than a CD or DVD and can store more information on them) and in the near future will replace CD's it also has a constant link to the Internet, you can talk to friends, share photos and listen to music. It may cost more but it's defiantly worth the wait till you have the money or until the prices go down...besides after the Christmas shopping season is over the price will go down. And here's another thing to think about: the Sony company has delayed the release of the PS3 for almost 2 years...why?...to work the bugs out, if you want quality you're gonna have to pay for it, they're already finding problems with the Wii controller...be safe trust Sony.

I Would Save Money & Get PS3, Wii Is Not Bad But I Think PS3 Is Much Better.
P.S. GTHD Is Based On GT4 Not GT3 & It Will Be A Free Download Not Sold On BDs.
