We put on Christmas music, drink eggnog, and all participate in putting the ornaments on. Many of the ornaments have their own stories and we talk about when/where we got them. Do you have a tradition for putting up the tree, or is it just another decoration?

When we put up the tree which is the 1st weekend in December, I put the lights on and the kids decorate the tree. We have hot chocolate and Christmas songs playing while the tree is decorated.

i have many decorations from my 1980's childhood years still up on my tree this year. last year i finally found Icicle ornaments i once saw on a Christmas tree many years ago. i couldn't find them when during the time i had seen them. so last year when i saw them. they were hanging on a Christmas tree display at Kmart. i convinced them to let me buy all the icicles that were on the tree. bummer thing about them, two broke when i got home. the rest are still hanging, along with More i that i got this year.
here's Christmas ornament to have, go to you 1 hour photo drop off and have some photo ornaments made up. this is great if you have little kids. they last forever (just don't drop them, or they'll break)

Ugh, I have no xmas tree at the moment. It's the 11th and It's still not up yet. But all I have to say, BLUE AND SILVER on a tree is hot.

it goes up the weekend of Thanksgiving, and doesn't come down until Jan 2nd. I do it myself while my hubby is at work and he's like a little kid when he comes home and sees the tree. He doesn't like to help but he loves the house decorated. I actually have 3 trees and a village.

Because of my allergies, we put it up the Sunday before Christmas and take it down on New Year's.
(sigh)
This year, because of the ongoing state of more or less open warfare between the German Shepherd and the new cat, we have decided not to have a tree at all.
Maybe next year. Either they will have learned to live together or they will have killed each other.
