Chamomile tea. It's not a tablet, but drinking a cup of this before bed will help relax you enough to get to sleep. Plus it is good for you, lots of antioxidents. Good luck, I know this can be troubling, by mom has the same problem!

There are several----Valerian Root---acts like a diazapam in the body and is good for stress-----St John's Wort---is a bit different and seems to be best for anxiety----Kava Kava is a calming herb that does seem to work more like a sleeping medicine. Be careful and check b/c California (and perhaps other states) has a law about driving while taking Kava Kava. If there is a naturopath or herbalist in your area talk to one of them before taking any of these herbs. If you are taking other meds there can be interactions.

Quiet life, it knocks me out. you can get it from most health stores. you take two durring the day then before bed and when you wake up you dont feel rough. also horlicks tends to work very well, a strong cup of horlicks should help you sleep through the night if you dont want to resort to tablets.

I was on Zimovane for years. They made me sleep alright, but left me like a zombie during the day.
I was in Turkey and had run out of my norm. I went into a chemist shop and was given DORMIDINA 25. I have not looked back. They are excellent.

Nytol works for me when I'm struggling to sleep although it sometimes leaves me a bit over-sedated in the morning.

I second the Melatonin response. Works like a charm! ;)

Make sure you read the warning label, though. It can cause your blood pressure to drop, so if you have low blood pressure or are taking medication for high blood pressure, discuss with your doctor first.
