I live in a small town and it would be nice to try to do "parties" in my spare time. I would love to do avon, mary kay, pampered chef... but I was wondering if anyone knew of a website that lists all the parties you can do or just off the top off of your head where I can find info for various parties?

Yeah it's very smart however, it may be better to be a beauty/image consultant. You will make far much more money by being the expert that people trust and rely on. Then you could sell the avon/mary kay stuff on the backend after they've had a consultation with you.
So create a small information product that sells them a box of stuff.
The model would work better for you. Good luck.

My wife sells Mary Kay and is awesome at it. She started this summer and did it just 2 weeks after we moved to a new town so she didn't know anyone. she has really made some good money and made some great friends along the way. it is a solid company with an excellent business plan. Trust me, I researched it for days trying to find a reason to tell her not to do it. I couldn't find one. I'm glad I didn't now that I see how fruitful it can be.

I only know about Mary Kay... I have about 3 different website that I can view that have 100's of party ideas listed. Some even include invites and other important lists. There is so much information in our system, I couldn't even view it all. But, it is only for consultants. If you sign up, let me know and I'll give you the addresses. One of the best is on the Mary Kay website itself (www.marykayintouch.com) that is specifically for consultants. Also, if you sign up with Mary Kay, your director should give you a new consultant check-list and a listing of selling ideas to get you started. Like I said, let me know if you sign up and I can email you every bit of info I have and the best websites to go to.

Arbonne has wonderful skin care and makeup lines, though not as well-known as Avon or Mary Kay.

I repped for them for about two minutes (I quickly realized selling wasn't for me), but love their products and found the women I worked with in the company to be generous and helpful. Overall, a very positive experience for me.
