I remember in the 1990's it was at its high in the market industry. Nowadays, sportscards are over produced so they don't have much value and not too many people are interested anymore. I hope so because as a teenager I bought a ton of rookie cards of players from baseball, basketball, and football of stars some going to the Hall of Fame, some already in the Hall of Fame. Rookie cards of Hall of Famers! I still have them but they haven't went up in value at all. How long will it take for me to see the hundreds and grands like the old cards? I don't want to just sell them or throw them away. How long?

Personally, i am a huge collector of all sports cards!
And with 3 out of the 4 major sports card companies reporting record sale last year, and with all of the new ideas and products they come out with every year, sports cards are starting to get huge again!

The problem was the card makers got greedy and printed to much and too many varieties. It soured the taste in may people, over card collecting. It may or may not come back but card collecting for the fun of it is still around. It has been hindered by the price per pack, some of the companies charge. Just like U.S. coins have gone out of site due to investors and greedy dealers. The bubble will burst there too. More and more coin collectors are looking at World Coins and Ancient and Medieval ones. You can get a coin minted in 200 BC for a dollar plus postage. Chinese cash coins are cheap now, but I don't think they will always stay that way. Collecting should be for fun and if you make a few bucks good for you. Leave it to the investors to lose out and it sounds like you did. Putting ones money in one venture only, is never a wise thing to do.

I dont think it can come back and im also stuck with a collection from the good ol 90s that i dont know what to do with. The card manufacturers have pretty much made regular collections worthless with everyone wanting all of these new autographed and material limited edition serial numbered things no kid can even afford. Probably best to keep it and give it to your kids if you have any.
