def a live christmas tree- nothing beats the smell of a live tree and cookies baking during christmas time. if you are worried about the mess of a real tree, go for a frasier fur- thats what we have and even with animals playing in the branches, there isnt a spray of needles everywhere. also, the needles are rounded so you don't get poked everytime you put up an ornament

I have done both. Artificial when I had carpet in the living room. I did a real tree one year, and could not get rid of all the needles from the tree. But now, with my wood flooring, I go for the live trees. They smell great, and it's a great memory for my children. I hope they remember picking out their Christmas tree the weekend after Thanksgiving!

I've had both, I found that I liked the smell of a real Christmas trees, and it was fun for the kids to help go pick out a tree. One year we actually found a real bird's nest in it. I had to be real careful bringing it it and out of the house. Gloves needed to be worn, the pine needles and bark can be very prickly. And there will be a big trail of pine needles going into the house as well. Now I just have a fake one, it's easier to put up and easier to take down cause I would have to do it by myself. It's a one person job, but a real tree would require additional assistance. Fake tree might be less money in the long run if you buy a nice one and can use it for many years to come.

Well that is a tough one! I love the smell of a real tree, but a fake one is much more convenient. You can keep an artificial tree up much longer, without worrying about watering or water damage, it is also much safer, and less clean up. I have been using a fake tree for about five years now, and just put out holiday candles for the aroma.

When I was a kid, we always had a live Christmas tree. My Mom and I were allergic to them though, so we always left it outdoors until Christmas Eve. Then my Dad would wash the tree and we'd bring it inside for a day. We'd plant them the day after Christmas. Now I just have an artificial one so that I can enjoy it for more than one day.

Have to have my 8-10 foot live Christmas tree. That is what I grew up with and I wouldn't have it any other way. We go to the tree farm and cut it down ourselves. It is a great family tradition, and when I have my own family I will carry it on.

I am allergic to pine trees, so I am artificial all the way! Not only do artificial trees save you money in the long run, it's less of a mess.

This could work either way really. I like the smell of a real tree. I have used a fake tree but the cats would crawl up into it and sleep on the branches. I hated that so much cause they would make big holes that I would have to fix in the branches.

My family always has a Real tree, Christmas is such a special celebration. Real trees make more fun memories, of getting the tree as a family and decorating it. The smell is awesome.
