We've been TTC for about 6 months now and everything seems to be ok with me according to my doctor. She said my husband should get tested but I don't know where to start? Should we go to our General Practitioner or the hospital or a lab? Anyone else done this?

Your OBGYN can order the SA. The Dr will give you a sterile cup, and you can take it to the lab at your local hospital to have it tested. Your husband may also want to see a urologist. Prostatitis can cause low sperm count. Low testosterone levels can also cause problems with conception. Have your man tested before you do too many tests on yourself. It's a lot easier to test him and to be treated than to treat female problems that may not even exist.

Go see an endocrinologist at specializes in fertility treatments. They can run all the tests he needs and he can check you for anything your OB didn't. Most endocrinologist/fertility specialists can tell you everything you need to know and even give you meds that can with ovulation and tell you when exactly to have sex through blood work and monitoring.

Call your doctor and see if they can order one. Usually they give you the cup and let you do it at home, and then take the sample in. It's really up to your doctor the way they do it. It's one of those tests that have to be ordered, so talk to your doctor.

just make a call to his GP, ask for a referral to a urologist.. they do the SA. then you call the urologist and tell them you need an sa and how do you go about getting one.. lots of times they will jsut tell you to pick up a cup and give you the procedure and you can just drop it off at the office as soon as its.. ahem.. ready.
