can I be your friend?? lolol....
yessssssss definitely this is a nice gift for a smoker!!
as a female smoker, I prefer a lighter that you just have to click on, vs. those that needs to be filled, or lit by rolling down with your thumb. those that need to be filled are a pain, and those that you have to roll with your thumb makes a callous (sp?) on the thumb. best are those that simply need to be clicked down on. course, that's me.. everyone has different preferences to be sure.
most people don't use cigarette cases anymore. i'd either lose it or not use it very much (although it's a nice idea!)

I'm not a smoker but my brother is and I've seen the damage it's done to him. Also, the effects of second hand smoke are just as bad. My grandmother has severe Asthma because of second hand smoke and she never touched a cigarette in her life.
If it was me, I wouldn't feed the addiction, even if the person only smokes 1 cig a day or only a few a week. It's still unhealthy and it was said on the news smoking would be eventually banned by 2010, anyone still doing it will have a warrant for their arrest.
If anything I would buy her some Targon or Nicorette.
Don't take offense to any of this. It's the same as if I gave a friend with a Heroin addiction a bunch of new sterile needles and some dope. Or buying a nice shiny gun for a person who always attempts suicide but never has the right methods and can't commit to it.

Skip the butts.
Sure, a nice lighter would be ok - just not some piece of flashy junk.
You might be able to kick it up a notch by looking locally or online for antique/old coffee table cigarette lighters and/or cigarette dispensers. They are not necessarily super expensive. So, even if she ever gets around to quitting or doesn't much care about her smoking accessories, she still has a nice little decorative object and personal memento.

Gosh, fancy thinking of giving her a carton of cigarettes? For goodness sake, ignore that concept! As a chum, do not you think of its extra suitable in case you get her something that could help her to offer up smoking quite? i'm a smoker, a heavy one at that yet i might get pissed if somebody supplies me cigarettes as a cutting-edge. possibly a lighter would be advantageous yet easily not something you're able to offer to a girl. in case you'll be imaginative sufficient to think of of this, i'm particular you will know what extra suitable issues to furnish to her.

As a smoker, I would like the gift. As an ex-smoker, dying of lung disease caused by smoking, I have to say, why do you want to contribute to her death? Surely, there are other things she can enjoy just as much, which are safe. I hope I didn't put you in a bad mood. That wasn't my intention. Have a merry Christmas, anyhow.

How about making a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association?
Possibly some aspirin and blood thinners so she doesn't have a stroke from all that smoking?
Or pre-pay her cemetary plot?
Maybe a gift certificate for periodontal care? If she doesn't have gum disease yet, she will soon.
Maybe you could just shoot her or push her in front of a moving train so as not to prolong her death. Lung cancer with mets to the brain, bones, and throat is such a hard death. I'm sure she will appreciate your thoughtfulness if you spare her all that agonizing pain.

As a general rule, do not get someone close to you something consumable (meaning it will be gone in a short period of time, and is usually replaceable). A nice lighter and/or a cigarette case are good ideas, but leave the cigarettes out. Save the consumables for acquaintances... like the fruitcake. :-)

Thats fine, Zippo makes some fine lighters. Now if your friend has a good sense of humor and you all get along fine, go to an adult shop, and I bet they have some lighters there that will not only light her cigarettes, but light up her smile and eyes.??

Try a pretty cigarette box with a matching lighter. That's more classy than buying the actual cigarettes.

as a smoker myself i would like to get a nice lighter, not a regular old bic either, one year a friend of mine bought me a genuine Zippo lighter, had it engraved with my initials on the cover and it was a nice present, but if you are CLOSE to her just a nice lighter and maybe a gift cert to a smoke shop or something or a gift certificate to a nice lady store that she likes, but getting cigarettes themselves for a christmas gift is quite lame I think.
