If you are using Microsoft Office '03 you can try the Windows Clipboard. I don't remember who to pull it up. If not, sorry then that's impossible. However, to save yourself from future problems you can use Notepad to copy and paste stuff to during your different sessions. God Bless.

Depending on how long ago this was, you should look in the Clipboard. It uaually comes in in a windows app, like Word, when you have copied or cut items. Display the contents of the Office Clipboard
On the Edit menu, click Office Clipboard.
Note If the Office Clipboard icon is displayed in the status area of the system taskbar, the Microsoft Office Clipboard is already displayed in at least one active Office program. Double-clicking the icon will open the Office Clipboard in the active program.

Only one chunk of data can be on the Clipboard at a time. As soon as you cut or copy something new, the old data will be replaced. Since the information remains in the Clipboard, it may be pasted numerous times. When you exit Windows, the Clipboard is cleared.
in future, use a free clipboard utility like yankee clipper

Try opening the "Clipboard Viewer", however, if you rebooted Windows since the error happened I'm afraid they are permanently lost.

You say you highlighted the whole text and cut it, where did you paste it to? It should be there, if you didn't paste it then it's gone for good.

When you cut/copy anything, it kinda stays in "limbo" until you paste it, if you didn't, and have since re-booted, it's gone man, gone.
