Hi, years ago back in the stone age when I was in high school most of us were 17 years old in the 12th grade but we had to be 6 years old by September 6th to start first grade. If we were not that age we had to wait and start the next fall. So some of the students graduated age 18. Each state has different requirements.
Happy Holidays...

To know the age when grade is given, you usually add 5 to the grade. So, people in 12th grade are supposed to be 17 years old unless their month of birth is too early or too late.

Typically, they are supposed to be 17. Junior year is Sweet 16.

You have to allow for variation, based on birthdays and failed grades, etc...so it could range from 16 - 18 or even potentially higher although I think that I would give up if it took me more than two years IN A ROW to finish highschool.
