That is one of the fun things about Republicans, if their stance becomes unpopular they will adopt that of the other side, then act as if they have always felt that way. Very flexible, Republicans.

If he was stating it as a new idea we are in trouble. If he was just stating it as part of an overall statement and had more substance to add then perhaps we will win this war afterall.
