If I sign the paper I'm agreeing for the bank to keep my information private on how many shares that I own. If I don't sign the paper, they will automatically let the companies no how many shares I own in my mutual funds. Before I agree or disagree what's the outcomes good and bad of them knowing how many shares I own in their company?

What kind of companies are interested in your personal holdings? Is the bank attempting to sell your information to marketing firms? This sounds very weird to me.

I would ask for a bank manager. I think the banker is explaining the process incorrectly to you.
