Israeli parliamentarian Yuval Steinitz called for abolition of Palestinian Authority in face of Hamas non-recognition and threats.

Steinitz argued in a radio interview Monday, Dec. 11, that there was no point in continuing the course set by the 1983 Oslo Accords which established the Palestinian Authority after 13 disastrous years that led to Hamas rule. A new policy is needed, he said, to cope with the menacing reality.

In Teheran, Palestinian Authority prime minister Ismail Haniya said "Palestine" is Islamic land and no one had the right to give it up. Armed struggle, he said, is the only way to free Palestine from “the occupation.” Haniya was received by Iran’s supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the end of a four-day visit to Iran which awarded his government $250m.

Nischal objects to referring to the PA as run by Hamas. OK, let's call it the "PA whose Prime Minister is Hamas."

The difference is hard to discern.

Yazan is certainly aware that the so-called Palestinians have not kept a single agreement that they signed. If they had, then they would have a state already. They never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.

Sure it should but who's army will do it? Israel is forever having its hands tied. Haniya's sentiments are quite normal this has been the Palestinian leaderships objective all along. They will not stop till every Israeli is driven into the sea, period. (that includes Muslims who live there and many other ethnic cultures) No amount of land will assure Peace, nothing but all of the land will do. Many of their religious leaders the world over teach that to the children, who in turn strap on bombs and die. Dismantling it will not end this, it goes deeper than reason. Sadly Israel is reasoning it self out of existence with the worlds "help" yet no closer to peace. Time to take it back again and try something else maybe. Israel is not the only objective, we are all it as well and there will be more war before this is done and not necessarily over there.

After the Oslo accord from 1993 the PLO recognized Israel's right to exist in the borders before 1967...Israel agreed to recognize Yasser Arafat as its partner in peace talks, and agreed to recognize Palestinian autonomy in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which remained under Israeli occupation...They should have allowed Palestinians to create their state and we wouldn't have had to talk about those things today...and Hamas wouldn't have been a threat for no one...Only if...

But I do agree on one thing now, that Hamas should step down from the government,if they really care about Palestinians and not power ...Unfortunately,even if they were elected democratic, the world chose to punish every single Palestinian for their choise...I think this should have been an alarm signal for everyone what point the despair of the Palestinian people has reached...

First of all, Oslo accord is no longer existed. One of the statements of Oslo was to establish the PA on the lands occupied by Israel in 1967. Now tell me....... where is that Palestinian state...for god's sake????

Israel kept up building Jewish settlements in West Bank and Gaza,as well. So, Oslo accord was violated by Israel.

If someone is going to take "terrorist" Hamas apart, then it should be the Palestinian people themselves, and that's completely impossible - I think- because it will lead to a civil war.

I repeat it again: " terrorist Hamas" and an Israeli " Technical mistake" in Beit Hanun!!!!!!!

Tinkerbell missed one point in her answer Arafat is the one who decline the Oslo accord not Barak and started the infadada I guess he would have face up to the responsibility of actually governing a country.

Hamas - run terrorist PA... with a label like that you poison the possibility of appreciating the reality of the way some people have to survive in.

I'm actually pretty sure that, given today's attack that intentionally killed three children of a Fatah official (ages 6, 7, and 8), Hamas and Fatah will engage in a pretty involved civil war sometime relatively soon.
