Because they are sociopaths and stay zeroed in on their target like a missile and see nothing else. And perhaps they are arrogant enough to think that they can change your mind. And last but not least, they have no common sense to see that it's just not going to happen.

How do you handle rejection? No one likes rejection and to make fun of them after you reject them is not very nice. Watch out, Santa Clause is watching.

It's harder for some than others. I guess they really feel that they are in love with the person and hope for some kind of miracle.
