Candle magick is a way to cast spells using candles on an altar. The colors, shapes, and sometimes placement of the candles is important. You also need to annoint them with certain oils. There are some great books out there on the subject, and it is an easy way to start to learn to cast spells. What is candle magic

Candle burning is one of most simple forms of magic. It can be performed most anywhere at any time and candles are really easy to purchase and are found everywere. The basic principles are to concentrate, visualize and focusing (willpower) on the candle as a symbol.

Candle magic can be used for all kinds of things like overcoming bad habits, attracting things, settling disturbing atmospheres, protection, regaining health, developing psychic powers along with many other things that i have listed below.

Basic Preparations

To start you should cleanse your space, relax have a positive state of mind. Choose new, unused candles, and do not use the ones you choose for any other purpose.

Make sure your space is quiet, except if you want to use soft music. It's a good thing not to eat or engage in sexual activity before any magic ritual. A "cleansing" bath is also a good thing before.

Give the candle some of your personal vibrations. This will give the wax your thoughts, desires and life-force. You can also use an essential oil on the candle. The energy from your hands will pass into the wax. Always start rubbing the oil from the top to the bottom when anointing a candle. Then go from bottom up to the center of the candle. While you are oiling the candle think about what you want to accomplish. Visualize success and see your desires accomplished.

I'm sure you'll get more sophisticated answers, but to me, candle magic is simply lighting a candle and saying a prayer. You can choose the candle color according to what your praying for, red for love, green for health, blue for peace and so on. Inscribe words or symbols on it and annoint it with holy oils and water. But it really is as simple as just lighting it as you say a prayer.
