given the blacks more opportunities than most other groups. lucky for them they cried the loudest

Affirmative action does not only affect minorty races, it also allows women, the disabled, veterans, and any other minority class to have a chance a job, place, government contract, etc. It only allows for a chance, it's no guarantee. Why do people who don't really know what affirmative action is or does dislike it so much?

Affrimative action applies to ALL minority (non-blacks) and even women!!! Get it right before you complain.
Many Universities value diversity and feel like their students will graduate with a better education if they are around people who are different from them. That includes people who come from poor neighborhoods or disadvantages groups. Diversity is a lesson all on its own and as long as these students are making the grades and graduating, they DESERVE to be there.

I think these days it would be a lot better if they had it based on the family income and the number of people the family supports rather than race.

It caused Americans to move out of cities through busing which effectively prevented real assimilation of blacks from ever really occuring.

I agree. Just another handout. The real issue that needs to be addressed is poverty, and until politicians wise up and see that, the same problems will continue to exist.

Nothing, just happens to help my friends who deserve to go to med school have to find soemthing else to do with their lives because they are white.
