I would go buy gift bags at dollar store. Then put a little teddy bear in it, then individualise it with stuff they like. Then sprinkle with candies! Or bake them cookies and put it in a nice box that you can find at dollar store.

*at walmart you can buy individual face scrubs, feet scrubs, face masks for 1.00 each this would be cute to attach to the out side of the wrapped candle
*at the good will they have brand new chenneil blankets (throws) for 9.99 in all sorts of colors plus they have brand new chenneil scarfs for 2.00 also in many colors
*movie pass is cheap
*or heres a good one you could put together little gift bags with the face scrubs and stuff I meantioned in the first idea along with, chapstick, new shower scrubber, good smelling body scrub at the dollar store they have the terry cloth hair bands that hold back your hair when you put on a mask put it all together and make like a at home day at the spa treatment you could do this very cheap and you already have the candle they can light while in the bath

You need to go the $1 store. They have crafts or alrady made items there that doesn't look cheap. I got a globe there once and the person doesn't even know that it came from the dollar store. You should give it a try. Just don't buy the candy from there. you can tell it tastes really cheap! Best of luck.

I am crafty so bear with me. You can make them snowman soup for Christmas. For each one you get a Christmas looking coffee soup from your local dollar store, fill it with one package of hot cocoa mix, 3-5 Hershey kisses and a handful of mini marshmallows. Add a candy cane to it and then wrap it up, I usually use clear or Christmas-like colors cellophane with cutesy bows and ribbons. Add a cute tag on each that tells them you want them to have a merry Christmas. There are sites on the Internet that can give you cute downloadable tags, look for Snowman Soup labels. Merry Christmas wishes =)

Buy a big bag of bath beads or crystals and cute containers or baggies. Divide the bath scents into individual containers or bags and tie pretty ribbon around it. Give that with the candles and you have spent about $15 for all your friends.

I don't know where you're based, but where I am you can often get a good selection of new or nearly new looking books from 25p-£3 from charity shops. Also nice scarves, hats and bags also for less than £5.

to tell ya the truth I dont know what to tell ya to get them, but I can say what I do. I like to make things, to me it seems more from my heart, rather than from my pocket. I have done and made several things for friends, family, ect.... there are plenty of places ya can go to that give ya craft ideas, and directions as to what and how to make stuff. Some say thats CHEAP but some of the things I have made are my parents and friends most cherished keepsakes.

- what about walking-stick-shaped candies? or chocolate?
- Make santa clause's hats or give them socks to hang

The cheapest will always be candy... so give them a nice candy or arrange something to make it look better. Like little boxes or put it inside a green and red combination of wraping paper and tie it with a bow.

Well, you probably know your friends well, so get them a gift according to there personalities. Like, if they are prepy, then get them something prepy. If you are on a tight budget, than go to the dollar store. Good luck!!
