What are some counter-terrorism tactics that the United States has employed since 9/11? Do you think the approach is either effective or ineffectual at countering terrorist attacks?

If any person wanted to hijack or commandeer a jet or a truck or a boat, it will happen.
If any human really wants to shoot a gun, it will happen.
If any human really wants to set off a thermonuclear device, it will happen. With trillions of dollars of payoffs and airplanes and guns a terrorits can maybe be slowed down, but not stopped.

The only way for us to counter terrorism is to understand the source of their animosity towards the United States; clearly, that is now due to two situations:
The (failed) War in Iraq
The support we give to Israel
