Love them both alot but if they were both on different channels at the same time I would have to choose Blackadder.

Has to be Fawlty Towers. John Cleese playing the eccentric English Hotel owner was a hoot.
As for Blackadder I just could not see the funny side of it.
Comedy really depends on peoples individual sense of humour.

Why can't people just answer the question asked. There wasn't an option for ab fab or the goons it was between Fawlty Towers and Blackadder, stop trying to be all cool and original just answer the question. Fawlty Towers for me.

Blackadder. Fawlty towers was ok in the 70's but it's dated and boring now. Blackadder is still funny no matter how many times they show it.

Each was of it's time, both were brilliant. I think Blackadder has aged better because of it's historical setting - the 70's fashions, cars, decor etc make FT look dated at times. But FT has by far the clever scripts. A lot of BA is actually rather weakly written, but saved by the sheer genius of the performers. In MHO, of course!
