It is what it is. It's certainly not "brilliant" nor is it "mentally challenged." Simply average. Here's what they all mean:

Over 140 - Genius or near genius

120 - 140 - Very superior intelligence

110 - 119 - Superior intelligence

90 - 109 - Normal or average intelligence

80 - 89 - Dullness

70 - 79 - Borderline deficiency

Under 70 - Definite feeble-mindedness

If this is an estimate from your standardized school tests for your state it could be lower than it would have been for a real IQ test. Even taking an IQ test more than once would be unlikely to give you the same score. Which is why these scores are often given in ranges. Also there is a great deal of cultural bias in the test, despite attempts to reform, and that can affect your score. That said 108 is a decent score, and since IQ is not based on age but your ability to comprehend materials, can't be rated as above or below grade level.

RE:
is 108 a bad I.Q. score?

There is no "bad" IQ score. The number is meaningless in the day to day lives of most of us. As with a physical attribute, such as strength, or appearance, the score is only useful as a tool used to compare.

What one does with his intelligence is what counts. A high IQ is of no use to someone who either can't or refuses to apply his intelligence for the betterment of himself or others. There are many individulals of lower or average intelligence who have done very well in the traditional measurments of success, such as wealth and happiness.

A score of 108 is an average number, which means this person has the potential of doing very well, or doing very poorly.

The U.S government will give disability to someone who has an I.Q. of seventy-five or less. That is thirty three points over being catagorized retarded , but an infinite amount of knowledge away.so; if anyone says you are a dumbarr, tell them that theyare wrong and that you are'nt a dumbarr , and that you are thirty-three points above that! So your answer is plain and simple: No.
