Clairvoyance [from late 17th century French clair (clear) & voyant (seeing)] is a form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by visual means. A clairvoyant may perceive distant objects, persons, or events, including viewing targets hidden behind opaque objects. Clairvoyants may also perceive types of energy not normally perceptible to humans, such as discarnate spirits and auras.
The term Clairvoyance is often used to refer to impressions gained by clairaudience and clairsentience as well as other psychic senses (see extra-sensory perception). As the etymology of the word suggests however, when properly used clairvoyance refers mainly to visual psychic impressions. But because psychic impressions often come as ideas or "vibes" mixed with visual images, the term clairvoyance may not always refer to purely visual information. Clairvoyance is also known as remote viewing
As with all psi phenomena, there is wide disagreement and controversy within the sciences as to the existence of clairvoyance and the validity and interpretation of clairvoyance-related experiments (see Parapsychology).

The word actually means 'clear seeing'. You also have people who are clairaudiant, which means clear hearing.
They are, or claim to be, people who can see or hear the spirit world.
Another name is 'medium'.
I have no sense of this world but a good and trusted friend of mine is a medium and there is no doubt that she comes up with stuff that she could not otherwise know.
It's all down to whether you believe in this sort of thing or not.
If you do, then you have no problem with it. If you believe that anything to do with spirit is humbug, then no matter what proof is offered, you won't believe it.
The Victorians didn't help. They wanted to believe so badly that they were conned by the most obvious tricksters. So mediums have got a really bad name from that. And that's where I would be if it weren't for my friend!
She doesn't charge for what she does. She doesn't try to make a name for herself. She just does what is, for her, perfectly natural. And I know her well enough to know that she's not a liar.
It isn't part of my reality, but it certainly is part of hers.

There are people who are highly intuitive (we all can be) but some are born with it. there's different ways of seeing into the unknown, for example:
clairsentient: through feelings
clairaudient: they hear guidance
clair cognizants: through knowing, they just know when something
& Clairvoyants see visual cues, such as mental images.
they are not all charlataans but some really are. I have seen some who give 100% accurate information for example they I didn't tell them sth & they told me about it.)

Someone who can transcend space and time and see one of the possibilities of something occuring. If what they see actually occurs then we call them clairvoyant.

The word's literal meaning is Clear Seer, Supposedly they tell your future, but as the 2 answerers above said, some are fakes. But a lot of people like to go along and pay just out of curiosity about their future. I guess we all hope they will jump up and down and say we are the most lucky, priveleged person they've ever seen!!

Someone who uses ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) or mind-reading. For the most part there hasn't been any real evidence that something like that is possible though.
