Tell your doctor to run a Thin Prep pap smear with HPV screening. ALso check for STD's in the same pap smear kit. Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. I know sounds awful but sometimes doctors don't do this and make you go through all that and it ends up being an infection. Ok, what protocall is, is this. You have your pap smear and it comes back abnormal right. Ok, you are supposed to wait 3 months to let the cells around your cervix regrow. When a pap smear or a procedure is done those cells are removed so it takes 3 months for them to be replaced. Ok, after the 3 months, you have a repeat pap smear, make sure you are NOT on your period, You did NOT just have intercourse and did NOT just douche!! Do not ask your doctor TELL your doctor to do a THIN PREP PAP SMEAR WITH AN HPV SCREENING. You don't need a colposcopy to have a HPV screening, this can be done with a thin prep. Also do an STD screening just to make sure.

Sometimes abnormalities in the cervix are just the body is going thorugh changes, and the body iteself is taking care of the problem so it shows abnormal changes.

If the THIN PREP PAP SMEAR comes back with HPV they can type the HPV automatically. There are High risk HPV and Low Risk HPV. So when this is done, the doctor will better know what would be the best next thing to do. There are treatments now for HPV. But the type of HPV has to be identified first.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Abnormal cells can many times be caused from a yeast or bacterial imbalance. My abnormal paps cleared up after taking a course of acidophilus (good bacteria). You can get many good ones at your local health food store. It is important to keep your body in balance. Also you should look at your pH balance. This can cause many abnormalities that can not be easily diagnosed.
