Of the originals.. I'd say guys like Darryl Dawkins, Clyde Drexler, Dr. J, and Dominique Wilkins. Those are probably the innovators of the dunk.
Then there came MJ, who was just a specatacle, and an amazing person to watch stay in the air for what felt like minutes on end.
But, with Vince Carter, he really just took it all to the next level. There really seems to be nothing this man can't do. I have 3 favorite dunks of all time: MJ's put back slam from the missed free throw; Shaq pulling down the entire back board; And Vince jumping over the 7'2" guy in the Olympics.
MJ was a genius with timing. Shaq's was just so powerful. And Vince was an incredible display of athletic ability.
He's creative and can squeeze through the tiniest openings.
I don't necessarily repect him as a ball player, for other reasons, but as a dunker, he is one of, if not the best.

I would have to say Vince Carter today, but i think Jordan was the best in his day. I think LBJ probably jumps as high as Carter or higher, but if you saw him in his highschool dunk contest he didnt do anything real great. I would love to see Carter in a dunk contest, but i dont think he will ever be in another one again because the NBA is making a big mistake by only having guys that have been in the NBA for only a few years.

This guy: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fz8FDB9WUyI
That guy is crazy.
For NBA, I would have to say Vince Carter. That 2000 Dunk Contest was one of the nastiest performances I have ever seen. Next to that, would have to be my boy Dominique Wilkins.

LeBron has the most potentail but he doesn't use it to the full extent. I think Vince probably is the best dunker right now but he's not the most talented one.
