I have a Kenmore wash machine with a defective drum ( which sears has said is covered by warranty - sears has already ordered the new drum) but the drum caused the tub housing to crack which sears wants to charge me $600.00 to fix - this should be covered by warranty if the drum broke the the tub!!! And the drum was defective

Complain to your local Better Business Bureau they usually get results. If you get ahold of your local ombudsman or take them to small claims court they settle pretty easily. Sears is Kenmore one in the same.

Sears for some reason has a thing where if you call Kenmore you are actually calling Sears for help. Even if you look it up online you will get a number to the Sears closest to your addess.
I think Kenmore is actually just another division of Sears now.

Kenmore (Sears), being a department store brand do not make their own appliances. Instead they contract the work out, so their appliances are made by many different manufacturers, and you will need to check your model number to see which manufacturer made your model.
Sorry you are stuck dealing with Sears. My condolences. You can, of course,try to recover in court. I guess they would pay instead of fight.

Kenmore is Sears name for appliances. The only # I have on my kenmore manuals is Sears home central.

Sorry. "Kenmore" isn't a company. It is a brand that Sears applies to its appliances. No one except Sears sells Kenmore brand appliances. Your only option for warranty work is the company that made and sold your Kenmore appliance - Sears.
