Love, if defined properly as the force which draws to actions, then yes.

Love in fact draws all things to actions; control without desire is powerless to act itself out. The same is true of all things. It must be purposed in order to have ascendancy, otherwise it is controlled by something else, and if it is controlled of that something, it must be for the purpose, or design of that Original Force, of which Love is a manifest form of.

This however does not answer the end of that purpose, or force, which Socrates called Love, and its goal/object, he called Beauty.

Everyone is looking for the beautiful ends to things of their designs, or better still, awaiting what they know can fulfill it more perfectly, beyond their reasoning...

This is the very basis for the existence of Philosophy, Science, and Religion: to fulfill every wayward desire in one consummate Reality, and Truth, and these three succeed as One, to the degrees of perfection of practice, and honesty, of the expousers of each.

HAHAHAHAHA...NO.

Love is just a word that is used to describe the powerful bond between people or between a person and something else.

Love, by nature is a relatively new concept to the human species. In the 20th century, the term "love" was become a very broad term that is used to show an affection or longing for someone or something. For example i can say: I Love this Book, which means I have a strong connection or feeling toward this book. However, when someone says: I love (him/her), this may mean a variety of things ranging from: i want to marry him/her, i find him/her very attractive or simply i want him/her.

Simply put, love is a very broad term for a series of emotions that we have come to associate with affection. However, it is important to note that in many other cultures (such as Japan), the word love has only recently entered the language and has combined many words used to describe affection.

Anyway, going back to the question...is "love the greatest force in the world?" I do not believe that love is the greatest force in the world because it is a fairly new concept and it has only a philosophical reasoning behind it. Clearly, if one says that "love is the greates force in the world" then he is a romantic figure and is arguing that love is stronger than any other force (physical or spiritual) in the world.

Personally speaking, i believe the strongest physical force in the world is man because he has the power to create and destroy some pretty incredible things (such as literature). However, spiritually speaking, i believe that knowledge is the greatest force in the world because it is the reason why humanity has progresses so much and has been able to create such illusions such as love.

Lastly, from a classical point of view...knowledge is the reason why humanity exists. If you read Genesis, it says that God expelled humanity from the gardin of eden because Adam and Eve bit from the Apple of knowledge and in doing this, gave themselves an infinite ability to see themselves and be able to make decisions about God.

Unfortunately it is not. Control, I believe, is the greatest force in the world. For all those corrupted by power to have control over something.... or maybe they want respect above all else. What is the act of seeking respect? That is the greatest force in the world. If women ruled the world, love would be the greater power, but because women see love as more important than respect we dont care about ruling the world. It is an odd cycle.

No, love is the most powerful! greatness or worseness has no bearing in POWER!

- Fear can be overcome when we rise agianst it. Control has changed faces throughout time. If its so powerful why is there not slavery anymore for example. Love is something than we all can always say we don't have but deep down it never goes away or its over come. Once you love you always love even if reason says you shouldn't.
- Greed we can all agree is a form of love. Love of money, love what someone else has.

Beyond a doubt, ignorance and narrow mindedness IS the greatest force in the world.

Love is quite powerful however is not the greatedst force in the world. Love is an emotion and as far as forces go, emotions are the worst things to have. Its an illusion that blinds people from logical thinking and that has been proven in controlled settings time and time and time again.

Control i would have to agree is the most powerful foce in the world. Not everyone can control but unlike love, those who have it create a much larger ripple effect if you will on the world around you.

It would be nice to believe, but it just isn't true. Love is a powerful force in mankind, but I think fear and economics are much more powerful. That's why very few woman fall in love wtih poor cripples, gotta be able to protect and provide before love.

We have unity with God in unconditional love within our heart. This unconditional love is the most powerful force in the universe. It is almost useless to one who is not pure in heart & using it to serve God and all he created
