My mother had a chronic mouse problem and she got one of those devices and she said it works quite well.

AS far as the comment to get a cat...NOT TRUE...I live in a 500 sqf house, and have 4 cats and 1 dog and still find mouse poop. They still come into the house...they just don't stay all that long.

We have rats and mice in our church (surrounded by wooded lots). The devices do NOT work!!! We have bought several brands and none off them work. We don't want to use poison because they will die in the walls. Who wants to come to a church that smells like a dead animal? We have tried traps and caught a few, but we still hear them in the ceiling in the early morning and evenings. Cats work, but we lost 2 church cats because we had to leave them outside and they came up missing (one liked to ride in the car...hmmmm). Moth balls will keep them out of places you don't want them to ruin but be aware that they are poisonous to some extent and can cause you to have repiratory problems. We put some in the ceiling over the office before we knew that fact and it was awful! None of us could hardly breathe and had to air out the office by opening the outside doors and turning on fans.

I suggest that you get a cat. I have 2 cats and I never seen a mouse in my house. If a mouse sense a cat in your home, the mouse will avoid your house completely. It also goes for apartments as well. The mice will avoid your apartment completely.
