MINE ARE NOT DIVORCED BUT MY DAD HAS BEEN HAVING AN AFFAIR SINCE 1990! WITH THE SAME WOMAN. MY MOTHER WAS AND STILL IS, VERY UPSET. THEY HAD FIGHTS ALL THE TIME, I'VE SEEN MY MOM CRYING THOUSANDS OF TIMES. THEY STAYED TOGETHER FOR THE MOST STUPID REASON-"FOR THE KIDS". WE, THE KIDS, SUFFERED A LT MORE WATCHING THEM FIGHTING ALL THE TIME. SO I CAN TELL YOU THAT I WISH THEY WERE DIVORCED. IT WOULD BE A LOT BETTER FOR ALL OF US.

Yes. My parents divorced when I was 23. Even though an adult at the time it was still very hard. It led me to the realisation that it doesnt matter how old the children are, a divorce always has an impact. However, several years later I now have 2 very separated but happy parents. Yes seeing your parents divorce is hard, but better in the long run than living with parents who are constantly fighting and hurting each other.

xx

Girl I'm kinda old now however my parents divorced when I was 16 years old. It was very, very hard on me and my little brother. It felt like everything they had ever taught me was flushed down the toilet. I didn't know who to turn to or what to think. I ended up spending my time with my drug using friends. I realize now,16 years later, that the divorce was a good thing, because my dad is a piece of shi*. It hurts very much girl, but you are strong enough to pull through this. Good luck, I will pray for you.

My parents divorced when I was 3, and I have had a step father for about 10 years now. It was hard for me at first, but just remember; your parents probably still love each other, they just can't live together anymore because they're too different and they both love you more than you'll ever know. Also, remember, if you ever get a step parent, they're not trying to replace your natural parents, they just want to be your friend.

My parents separated and later divorced when I was 19. It sucks. They live in different cities. Going home for Christmas means going to two different houses. Nobody likes it that you went to the other's.
I don't even go back anymore.

I do, but they've been divorced 14 years so I don't remember much, it was hard for me still though.. God helped me through with ministry and prayer and stuff, now it's all good, I get to see my dad more often and I don't feel as bad about it..

everybody has hard times. i have divorced parents and that wasn't the hard part. i had two Christmases, two homes, extra family who loved me. now when my mom remarried and that was a horrible marriage that was bad for me, being scared and not having peace. that is what hurts kids. not having security it is better for children to know they are loved then to think all is their fault and they can not control anything.
