My doctor advised that we give our son cereal at 4 months. I didn't think he was ready and sure enough he wouldn't eat it. So I tried about 2 weeks before he turned 6 months old. And he loved it. I started baby food when he was 6 months and 1 week old. He does great with the veggies but he's not big on fruit yet.

I started my twins on rice cereal at 3 months old, jarred foods like veggies and fruits at around 5.5 to 6 months and jarred meats around i believe 8 or 9 months old. I know some DRs will say not even rice cereal til 6 months old, but i have heard others say 3-4 months. I went with my Dr. at the time who said to try a little bit at around 3 months. My twins did fine with everything and are good eats and always have been. Good luck!

I would put cereal in the formula when they were two months to keep them from having so many bottles during the day and night. I also started all my kids on solid food when they were four months. I gave them fruits for the fist solids and then worked my way up to the different kind of texture with the foods.

Never put cereal in a bottle like someone told you to do, any doctor will tell you that. Anyway, my doctor said that he would discuss starting my daughter on rice cereal at four months. No sooner than that though. Talk to your doctor about it and he/she will tell you what they think is best for your child.

You aren't suppose to start them until at least 4 months, I however started my daughter at 2 months because she was already giving all the signs that she was ready and she eats very well from a spoon hardly spits anything back out.

My daughter was very greedy. So we started her on cereal at 2 months and baby food around 5 months.

After 6 months. The later the better because their digestive organs are not capable of handling solids until they are older
