I sold on item to person in the U.K., and recieved an email from customer-attendant@consultant.com , stating that the buyer had payed for the item and the funds would be deposited into my account once I replyed back to the email with a shipment tracking number. However, it does not seem like a legitmate PayPal address. This is my frist time using the service and I want to see if this was standard or if I should not send the item. I could not find my answer on Paypal's site.

It doesn't sound right to me. I've never had to give a tracking number before they paid me. I don't ship anything until the money is deposited into my paypal account.. When the buyer has made payment, you get an automatic email, as I said, I wouldn't provide them with any information till you're paid. I give buyers tracking numbers only after I've been paid.

I forgot one thing...forward all suspicious emails like that to spoof@ebay.com or spoof@paypal.com, and they will write back to you and tell you if the email was legit or not.

The procedure is as below: The buyer will deposite the money in your account in Paypal. On confirmation of the receipt from paypal, you have to ship the goods with due procedures and ahave necessary shipping instructions. It is the seller's responsibility to ensure safe receipt of goods by the buyer. I can give you a link that deals with Payapl & Ebay transactions through Paypal. PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

Well never ship something until its paid for. Can you get something from Amazon.com without paying for it first? If its a legitimate address it will say its confirmed. I have never had any problems with Pay-Pal but you may want to get in touch with them to see what 's up with the email. Again never ship anything until its paid for there is a good chance you will never see the money.

Don't ship it yet. Never will you receive an email stating that you need to supply any shipping info in order to receive the funds. Its a spoof email. Forward it to spoof@paypal.com
