the mayans have not been destroyed, but still exist in numerous regions within mexico, guatemala, el salvador, etc. there are numerous mayan dialects still spoken in these regions such as lacandon which is reputed to be the closest to the original mayan tongue, tzetzl, totzil, etc. many of these speakers in the highlands of chiapas know only their mayan dialect and not even spanish.

I assume you mean Mayan civilization. No one knows yet. It may have been the Inca, weather or disease.
BTW mayans still exist they weren't destroyed.
