I have an 8 month old and would like to start TRYING to get pregnant again. It took me 10 years to make my baby happen and I'm not getting any younger. I'm still breastfeeding and plan on doing so till my son is between 18 and 24 months. I've not had a period yet. I have tried the ovulation predictor kits and to no avail. I am a nurse and I spent years working in ob/gyn, so please no sarcasm with comments. I'm trying to figure out when (or if) I'm ovulating and if anyone has any stories or experiences that could help me with my situation. Thanks!

I breastfed my daughter quite frequently and didn't get a period until she was 20 months old. However most people I know got theirs sooner. My daughter was still sleeping with me and waking up at night but most people I know who were doing that still got theirs sooner. My period took me by complete surprise even though I had been checking for signs of fertility. I got pregnant while breastfeeding. It was only the second month of trying and I'm now 6 months pregnant with a healthy (so far as we can tell) son. My daughter weaned herself when my milk changed to colostrum about a month ago.

Do you do scheduled feedings or on demand. I was told scheduling feedings would bring back my cycle. I did not try it but maybe it will work.
