American presidency has epanded greatly since T.R. Why?

i am writting a paper i was wundering if some one can help my out. also what three presidents have contributed to the epansion and why.

It expanded with the country. TR brought international attention by sending our Navy around the world, and authorizing the building of the Panama Canal. Wilson expanded the office mostly due to the involvement in WWl. The next President to expand the office was FDR due to the Depression. World involvement after WWII brought more pressure on the office. When the Cold War ended, Bush I pushed us into more global commerce, and it's not stopping. The office today, is way to big for anyone to govern effectively.
