Seems to me you need to go back to the doctor. In the meantime, you may want to make sure you have a humidifier going if it's a dry cough.

She could have whopping, bronchitis, pneumonia, or croup. They are all hard to diagnosis without hearing her cough. I would call the doctor back and get a follow-up appointment today. These are all very serious when you are her age. Call and get an appointment and let them know that it is a follow-up due to the fact that she is not getting any better.Since she goes to daycare make sure she gets the flu shot and give her a vitamin everyday this will help her in the long run. i would even ask about the airborne for kids and see what the doctor though. Good Luck and I hope she feels better soon.

The cough could be anything, including sinus or allergery related cough. The only person who can tell you for sure is your Dr. Do not blame yourself for taking her to daycare, most daycares are clean and orderly and she is being exposed to no more germs than she would playing at a friends house or if you took her shopping to a mall etc. You can not protect her from human contact.

Take her back to the doctor. When you have bronchitis it tends to burn when you cough or at least it does for me. If she is crying when she coughs, something is hurting. When kids go to daycare, they catch everything. We are fighting the same problems with our 7 month old in daycare because I have to work. Check with your daycare about cleaning procedures. Sometimes germs are spread faster through daycare because things are not cleaned often enough or not sanitized to kill the germs. Good luck!

My son who is 11 months had a really bad sinus cold plus terrible cough a month or so ago. He would have cough spasms where he would cough and try to catch his breath. It was scary His dr told me to make sure I have a COOL-mist humifier going-make sure you keep it clean. Take her back to the dr again or to another dr to get a second opinion. See if they can do an x-ray on her chest to see if she has infection. It probably hurts in her chest when she is coughing. Bless her little heart. I know what your are going thru!!
I have a little girl who is going on 3 in Jan and I know it is hard when your baby is sick.
my e-mail is lilstarlite17@yahoo.com if you want to ask me anything!
Hope she feels better soon!!!

1st of all whopping cough would be very dangerous and very very rare unless shes been exposed to it. in which case you need to take her in ASAP. second it is RSV season and if you think she's getting worse or has afever or isn't taking fluids or just isn't ascting normal for a few days take her in.. it's also could be daycare no that there is anything you an do but they are like a infestation for germs!

I'd get her back into the doctor. My daughter had RSV when she was 8 month's old and it is that time of year. RSV starts out just like the common cold. Coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion all that kind of stuff and it can be very very dangerous for babies. Just get her in and have them check her out again just to be safe.

If she sounds like a dog or seal barking it is probably whooping cough. Daycares do tend to spread alot of illnesses so your child could be picking it up there. Consult your pediatrician if she isn't getting any better and if they seem unconcerned and your still worried, get a second opinion. It's hard to see our children sick and uncomfortable. Mother's intuition is natures way of saying pay attention.

if it is whooping cough you will know. my son was tested for it because he wouldn't stop coughing and was puking all day. when you have whooping cough you make a whoop sound in between coughs because you can't catch your breath. her broncitis may be back, take her in and have them check for the broncitis. tell them that is what you want tested and that the cough medicine isn't working, she is your baby and if you want her tested tell them!! they should listen to you if you are concerned. try a peds doc too!! they know more about babies and what to look for.
