i want to buy a dummies book to learn but i have a keyboard and the only on i find is on piano.

will it work...is there a big difference?

They are played the same way. Keyboard is electric, while a piano involves actual strings. The music is the same for both though. You should have no trouble using that book (except that keyboards don't have foot pedals like pianos do, but that shouldn't be too much of a problem).

Assuming by keyboard you're referring to an electronic synth. It really depends on the kind of synth. At minimum, a piano has at least 88 keys spanning seven octaves (plus a minor third), it produces sound as loud as how hard the keys are played, and a pedal that allows the tones to be sustained. A high end Roland or Korg may have these features, but most keyboard synthesizers will not, and even the Roland and Korg are no substitute for a real piano.

I used my keyboard to learn how to play piano. There is not a big difference between them, you should be fine.

I'm sure you can use the piano dummies book, as the keys are the same, and you probably received an owner's manual for the keyboard, so YOU'RE SET!

the main difference is a keyboard is electric and a piano is a string instrument.

just look at them!
they both have keys so you can practice.
they will sound different tho.
